PRESS RELEASE

For one weekend in March you can purchase the work of MACA’s award winning craft artists, support CBU’s fledgling art program and encourage promising young artists from Memphis schools…all at the same time. And if you attend the Friday evening reception you can do it all with a glass of wine in your hand.

The Memphis Association of Craft Artists and Christian Brothers University have once again come together to produce their spring Fine Crafts Fair. The show and sale will be held March 26 – 28, 2010, in the Canale Arena on the CBU campus. On display will be fine craft in a wide range of mediums, including pottery, glass, wood, and much more.
Each of the participating artists will donate a piece of their work for a silent auction. 100% of the money raised will go to the CBU Art Department Scholarship Fund.

In addition to the fine craft show and sale, over a dozen area school art departments will have their students’ work on display. They will compete for cash prizes and the chance to spend a day in the studio working one-on-one with some of MACA’s talented artists.

A wine and cheese reception will be held on Friday, March 26, from 5:00 pm—9:00 pm. The market will be open and all artists will be in attendance. The hours for the show will be 10:00 am—6:00 pm on Saturday, March 27 and 11:00 am—5:00 pm on Sunday, March 28. Parking will be available in the Central Avenue lot. This event is free and open to the public.
