About the Memphis Association of Craft Artists

The Memphis Association of Craft Artists (MACA) is a chapter of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists. MACA covers Fayette, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton counties, and is open to everyone interested in fine craft from the beginners to the most accomplished -as well as students, gallery owners, schools, guilds, co-ops and appreciators.

MACA promotes member communications and education through meetings, workshops, exhibition & sales events, community activities, newsletters, and email notices. MACA has members in a wide variety of media, although painting and country crafts are not included by TACA or MACA.

TACA was founded in 1965 as a statewide, independent, nonprofit organization to encourage, develop and promote fine crafts and fine craft artists in Tennessee. TACA provides a newsletter, workshops and a Tennessee-wide member directory including a list of TACA members willing to mentor in both craft and business areas.

TACA produces two fine craft fairs each year in Nashville. In addition, TACA sponsors The Best of Tennessee Crafts, a biennial, statewide competition for artists living in Tennessee.

By joining TACA, you automatically become a member of MACA if you live in one of the counties that MACA covers. MACA receives a portion of the TACA dues to support local activities.
